Then and Now: The King's Worcester Story

For nearly five centuries, King's Worcester has been shaping young minds, building lasting character and sending extraordinary individuals out into the world.  It is one of the oldest schools in the country, with a history as rich and varied as the generations of pupils who have passed through its doors. As we look to the future with excitement and ambition, we remain equally proud of the heritage that defines us and the stories that have brought us to where we are today.

The Then and Now series is our way of exploring that history together. In each instalment, we will be diving into the archives to uncover fascinating stories, rare photographs and remarkable memories from across the centuries. From the School's earliest days to the defining moments of more recent decades, there is a wealth of history waiting to be rediscovered and shared.

But this series is not just about looking back. It is about understanding how the past has shaped the present and how the values instilled at King's, curiosity, integrity, resilience and community, continue to echo through the lives of every Vigornian, wherever they are in the world.

This is where you come in. If you have old photographs, letters, programmes, reports or simply a memory you have always wanted to share, we would love to hear from you. The archives hold a great deal, but the most vivid history lives in the minds and hearts of the people who were there. Together, we can build a living, breathing record of what it truly means to be a Vigornian, now and across all the generations that came before us.
